I ride a Norco Sight VLT electric all-mountain bike. Riding the trails in the Snowy Mountains, FOR ME, requires an electric bike. Eric and I did ride our non-electric mountain bikes, but it was so slow and tiring, it just wasn’t fun. Our bike paths are a mixture of dirt roads, snowmobile trials and hiking paths. It requires steep inclines, fast declines, creeks, boulders, rocks and rough terrain. My goal for 2024 will be to cross a creek, on my bike, without falling into the creek. (Attempted in 2023, but ended up in the creek.)
I compare my Norco bike to a good horse. You know you can depend on it to get you to and through whatever is thrown at you. You have trust in it. Having trust in your bike’s performance is the most important thing for me. This is a new sport for me, the terrain can get rough and I need to feel confident that the bike will handle whatever I ride over or through. Not to say I haven’t fallen off (four times in 2023), but it was never the bike.
What I love about my Norco bike:
- lightweight
- rides over rocks, branches, creeks, light snow with ease
- gets me up steep inclines
- computer is easy to operate showing miles, speed and battery life
- helps me ride with confidence
If you are looking for a great bike, my friends Aaron and Melissa at Link Cycling can help. We had some tweaking to do with our bikes and they were always so helpful. Tell them Amy sent you! You can find them at https://thelinkinnovations.com/.
2023 Adventures:
Biking in Ryan Park, Wyoming, Gunnison, Colorado and Rabbit Ears, Colorado. A moose blocking the trail and how easily we transport our bikes.
